Banner Display Option

I really like that you can display art for the upcoming shows, but I also like seeing far into the future. With posters, I can only see two shows that are upcoming. The default banners are probably too wide at 700px, so I think they would have to be shrunk in order make for more room.

I don’t know if you tried this while building, or this is something. But just wanted to see what you think. Thanks for the great app!

I assume you’re talking about the series list?

Not sure how beneficial that would end up being since you may be able to get more vertically, but less horizontally. Posters generally look better than their banner counter part as well, so there is a visible boost to using them.

Yes, the series list.

My point is that I can’t see more than two upcoming shows when posters are displayed. Just a thought.

Maybe something like:

Banner | Tomorrow Season 1 HD720p | Edit Delete
Show Desc | Shows downloaded.

I am not a designer, so having a tough time showing you what I picture in my head! Haha!

Oh you’re referring to the overview list (tooltip shows the name), you can change it to poster only (less details), but I see 8 on the screen (1920x1080) or table.

I was comparing the posters view to your proposed banner view, and don’t see how we could get a lot more on there.

Yes, referring to the Overview list. Obviously, it doesn’t need to be this big (http://thetvdb.com/banners/graphical/269586-g3.jpg). Bringing it down to 400px wide doesn’t look too bad.

Anyway, it was just a thought cause I like banners.

(XBMC guy over here!)

Haha, my first thought when thinking banners is like posters, maybe in two columns, with the relevant data underneath, but no sure how it will look. A more tabular look might be better and a better use of vertical space, but I wonder if it will be too tall to keep with the width of the page.

Thanks markus! I truly appreciate you considering my suggestions.

I tend to think that I have some good ideas around UI, features, and functionality.
