Automatic unmonitor of deleted aired episodes

I just made the move from Sickbeard to NzbDrone and there is something I can’t figure out

I am not a nostalgic guy, so when I’ve seen an episode of something, I will delete it. In Sickbeard, if the episode had aired, been downloaded, then deleted; after the next scan the episode episode status would change to Ignored, so in the show list the number of episodes wanted would be displayed next to the number of episodes downloaded. It was then really easy to spot where there were missing episodes.

In NzbDrone, after deleting aired episodes; the episode will still be monitored, and the show will appear in the show table as having missing episodes.

I want the season and the episode to be monitored, so that it can be grabbed. But after I have watched the episode and deleted it, I would want the episode to automatically be set to unmonitored (like in Sickbeard), so that in the show table it will not appear as a missing episode.

Is this possible? have I just not found the right configuration?

Sure is possible, this came up recently, so the post is just a few down (title is a bit obscure): http://forums.nzbdrone.com/discussion/1808/there-needs-to-be-another-category-for-downloaded-and-deleted-#Item_3

Thanks, that was just the info I was looking for

I was going to post something but decided to do a search first. The link appears to be deleted or private now. Does anyone know of the best way to handle this? I too would prefer the episode not to be monitored after a show was deleted.

The ability to mark an episode as archived in SB was helpful for me as well. I seem to miss it a little now as a new Sonarr user but I’m sure it may largely be a response to the application being new to me. I realize it’s going to function a little differently.

Nevermind… I found a post that seemed to suggest a setting. In combing through the settings I found this:

Settings | Media Management | File Management | Ignore Deleted Episodes

Setting this to Yes looks to be the solution I need. Hopefully this helps someone else.
