Anime - "A Certain Scientific Railgun" and "A Certain Magical Index"

Sorry this is a very specific scenario. “A Certain Scientific Railgun” and “A Certain Magical Index” both use alternate titles specific to their second seasons,
“A Certain Scientific Railgun S” and “A Certain Magical Index S”. Unfortunately because of this drone is unable to find the right results for this first season.

Here’s an example of searching for S1E23 where sickbeard is able to find the correct result and drone is not

On the other hand Drone is able to find results for season 2 and Sickbeard fails to do so.

I can’t find the complete log for Drone but here’s where it completes:

@chaosreigns drone found results when searching fanzub, but it failed to process the results for some reason. Please provide debug logs (enable, clear existing log files, run the search and pastebin them), without them there isn’t much I can do.

Found the issue, the fix is being built now. Please add the debug logs next time though.

markus101, thanks for fixing these anime issues! I’m glad I can use drone for anime now.
sorry about the logs, this is my first time reporting issues. I’ll make sure to do debug logs next time.

Any chance you could push a fix so I can add the series “Rail Wars!” to drone?

This fix won’t fix Rail Wars! not working. It’s simply not returned by Trakt’s search API.

I’m not sure this is the same problem or not but it seems related: I just added Date a Live. The first 12-episode series of this was simply called that, while the second season is called Date a Live II on the indexers. However, when I search for the first ep of season 2, it finds episode 13 of season 1 (which is marked as a special on the TVDB) instead of Date a Live II 01. I think this may already be on the radar but since I’m not sure I’m mentioning it anyway.

@NMe thats an issue with absolute numbering, it will need to be mapped on thexem.de to work correctly.

Looks like they’re working on that: http://thexem.de/xem/draft/1197 :stuck_out_tongue:

I just found another weird one. Hunter x Hunter won’t work, from what I can see since it includes “(2011)” when searching and releases for HxH simply don’t add the year. Which isn’t weird in itself, since there is no alternate title and there was a 1999 version of the same series as well. However, Sickbeard’s anime branch always managed to get this series as well.

I just checked Sickbeard and when I hover over the series title, it says that an alternate title for all seasons is “Hunter X Hunter”, which would explain why it can get the series after all. It doesn’t seem to have automatically cut off the year since the series itself is called “Hunter x Hunter (2011)” and the alternate name is “Hunter X Hunter” (note the capital/non-capital X). They are getting the data somewhere but I’ve just checked and it’s not from Trakt nor from TheXEM.

Do you think that wherever Sickbeard-anime gets that info from, you can get it too?

For completeness’ sake:

Also, I’ve been playing with that Date a Live series a bit more. Turns out that if I manually add the episodes of season 2 to SABnzbd, Drone pick up on them having been edited. Drone the starts showing progress bars even though it never sent them to SAB (which I actually think is pretty cool) and after downloading it properly detects and moves the episodes to the correct spot. So even though the episode searcher cannot find the episodes on the indexer, Drone can actually handle these file names. Is this something you can work with?

does drone support anime again?.. or is this the old build

Not sure where they get that alternate name from this list extends the default SB list: http://lad1337.github.io/sb_tvdb_scene_exceptions/anime_exceptions.txt but it doesn’t have it there.

As for Date a Live, searching doesn’t work from drone? No results? Wrong results?

@Clayboy its a WIP.

If I search for ep 1 of season 2, it seems to search for Date a Live 13 when it should be searching for Date a Live S2 01. As such I get no results for season 2. If I search for episodes in season 1, I get both seasons 1 and 2 found on my indexer, but it correctly says that the episodes from season 2 that it lists were not requested. I realize that the series is not linked on TheXEM but at the same time it did manage to pick up on the external downloads even though I never even put them into the Drone Factory. It did move files called [HorrbileSubs] Date a Live S2 - 01 [720p] to the correct season/episode location. So while it cannot find the episode, it can deal with its naming scheme correctly.

As for HxH: would you me to look around in the source for SB a bit to see how it gets that info?

K, I’ll look into it. I’ll add a mapping for HxH in our system, what’s the tvdb ID for it?

252322

Okay, added. I’ll look at Date a Live later on.

Thank you. Not that it’s surprising, probably, but I’d like to confirm that HxH is working now too.

HxH now has two alternate titles that are both the same: “Hunter X Hunter”. I guess that means the alias in your system is no longer necessary.

Removed.
