Alternate Name for Anime Series

Hi,

I have an issue with the same problem (seemingly at least).

Let’s take the anime serie “Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso” (English: Your lie in April).

You can add it to Sonarr.
Each episode will be detected in either the series folder or by scanning the “Drone factory” folder when using the english or japanese romaji name, but the series will never be found by the search function.
Sonarr search it under the english name, but it’s not the one that’s used either on nzbindex or fanzub or torrent sites (nyaa often use japanese names)…

Ex english not found:
_https://nzbindex.com/search/?q=your%20lie%20in%20april
http://www.fanzub.com/?q=Your+Lie+in+April

Ex japanese found:
http://www.fanzub.com/?q=Shigatsu+wa+Kimi+no+Uso
_http://www.nyaa.se/?page=search&term=Shigatsu+wa+Kimi+no+Uso

So the question is, is there a way to force Sonarr to use the alternate name in the search?

Thank you!

(sorry for the links, as a new user… only 2 urls allowed)

Please don’t respond to threads so old, you can choose to replay as a new topic so we don’t notify everyone else on that thread.

Did you do those searches manually? or from Sonarr?

Alternate names for anime come from thexem.de, is it added there?

Ok, sorry.

Yes the searches were done manually.
From Sonarr, no results are found.

Xem knows the japanese name of the show:
http://thexem.de/xem/show/1608

It also appears correctly in Sonarr in the series description page.

Both xelra and me have been following this anime since it started, @markus101, no problems for us. Whatever is going wrong for @typhoe is probably either wrong on his end or a new bug that was introduced in the past 24 hours, as that is when I got the latest episode without issues.

Hi,

that’s strange because it never worked for me!

I’ve also been following this anime since it has been announced.

If I remember correctly, when I first added it to Sonarr, only the japanese name was known, then a few days/week after, there was an update (show rescan) and the name changed to the english one (with the japanese becoming an alias).

Maybe that’s the reason?

No clue, but it really should work fine.

Is the series set as Anime in Sonarr (edit series), also try refreshing the series from the series details page and then try again.

Ok, I deleted the series and added it again… now the search is working!

You should have been fine just to set the series type to Anime and search again.

They were already set as anime.

I changed that when the Anime branch was merged.

Bizarre, since they were searching for it as a standard episode instead of anime. As long as there is a solution.
