Recently I was adding an anime show to Sonarr “Rabbids Invasion” and most of the episodes name are wrong in addition to that there is no absolute episode number so all episodes have the exclamation mark in the triangle next to them and you can’t search for missing episodes. I had to delete the show and add it one more time as a standard TV show, episodes name of course still wrong and in order to fix this you have to sign up for TVDB and you better pray that the TV show you want to edit and fix isn’t locked or you are doomed like my case. I have put a post on TVDB followed all the forums rules gave them links from the sources they want and it has been like 5 days no one even bothered to put a replay, so all what am asking is an alternative DB for sonarr so we can have options and not to be stuck like in my situation. Please check the link below for another DB and if it’s possible to be compatible with Sonarr or not. I am pretty sure it’s not something as simple as am typing this post but I guess it worth looking at. Thanks
We’ve discussed how we can support other sites, but have no immediate plans to support alternatives at this time as we’re still considering the options that are available to us.
Are the episodes released using absolute episode numbers? If not standard is the correct option, Anime refers in most cases to Japanese anime, which uses absolute episodes numbers instead of season + episode numbers.
You can also edit the series and change the type.
Wrong according to what exactly? It’s pretty common for the groups that release files to differ from the TVDB and the TVDB will lock seasons or entire series when edits are made that can’t be justified. TheTVDB follows the network’s order (in most cases) and enforces that pretty strictly.
Thanks Markus for replying, glad to hear you already taking this in consideration, also thanks for clarifying that the anime only refers to the Japanese anime I didn’t know that. Yes I have figured it out after that I could have edited the show and change it to standard. The episodes names are wrong according to the actual show I have, I got the first 2 seasons and it shows the episode name before it plays and some naming on tvdb is wrong.
That sounds like TheTVDB and the release groups don’t agree or the order of your files is the DVD order, if TheTVDB has that order stored as well you maybe be able to compare them and rename them.
I don’t have the DVD I got them from France 3 the channel that broadcast the show and they had it in the order I have.

I think what is causing the problem in this show is the way they air it. They air 1 episode for 21 mins including 3 episodes inside it, each individual one has a name so an example; episode 1 on TV includes (Omelet Party - Rabbid Mollusk - Rabbid, Are You There?) and on Wikipedia and on Ubisoft wikipedia (the show developers) showing different numbering again which is the number in season (1a - 1b - 1c). I guess the problem now is more in the people who upload the show without splitting the episodes so when Sonarr search for explicit episode name for later episodes it can’t find it. I am going to work on this and will split all the episodes to make it matching the names of tvdb, it would be also cool if we could use the no. in season as the absolute number but sadly the show is locked.
Ahh yes, split episodes as they often referred to are problematic and not something Sonarr supports, if your files contain multiple episodes you can name them to be multi-episode files and Sonarr should import them, if they are split you can name them to match TheTVDB numbering.
