Hi, would be nice if there was torrent suppot for freshon.tv, arguably the next best torrent site after BTN.
Looks like they have an RSS feed and Passkey, so it might be similar to how BitMeTV is being implemented.
We have no plans to add any more direct torrent indexers, additional support will come via a generic RSS feed processing.
I can understand not taking the time to add every provider under the sun because that could take a minute, but if the providers themselves (or users of said provides) coded it, would that be able to be pulled into the development branch for testing and then into master?
It depends. If its something generic we likely wouldn’t pull it in and instead use the generic parser for it. It also depends on searching, if the tracker doesn’t support searching via an API its very likely going to fall under the generic RSS processing, if it supports search it might need a separate implementation.
Long story, it depends and we’ll need to decide on a case-by-case basis.
I’m a bit late to the party, both in this thread and with Sonarr in general, but, as a freshon.tv member, required to fill in the frequent gaps in usenet, adding freshon.tv or at least a generic RSS parser would be something I’d appreciate as well; please add one vote to that list. Closed trackers can be hard to find invites for and yet are much more secure than open trackers, support for popular closed trackers in general would be useful.
Have you ever considered taking bounties on features?
As in a set amount of donations and we’ll do feature X? Or bounties for other devs?
We’re not fond of either option, the former means we’re obligated to add a feature and then there is the expectation that it will be done quickly, which isn’t always the case for a variety of reasons, the latter leads to lower quality code and a race to get things done.
