My media server automatically converts MKV files to MP4 for compatibility.
If an episode gets downloaded in HDTV-720P quality, the quality is correctly recorded in Sonarr.
Once converted to MP4 and the changes get picked up, it lists the file as SDTV.
Is there a way to remedy this?
Thanks!
Make sure the quality is part of the filename.
Oh I see…so it sets quality to a default for that file extension?
I thought MediaInfo or similar was being used to analyse the file.
The ‘Analyse video files’ option under File Management seems to indicate this:
“Extract video information such as resolution, runtime and codec information from files. This requires Sonarr to read parts of the file which may cause high disk or network activity during scans.”
Is this feature not functioning properly?
Thank you for the help!
It doesn’t use the extracted quality in the import decision at this time, that information is used when renaming only.
